Inspired by the history of immigration; The Bracero Program, Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers Union and the 12th year of DACA ( Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ).

100% of profits will be donated to UNITED WE DREAM. United We Dream is a nonprofit immigrant advocacy organization with chapters operating in 28 U.S. states. The organization is an "immigrant-youth-led network" of 400,000 members in 100 local groups. The group was involved in advocacy surrounding the passing of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals bill.

The Bracero Program gave many Mexican workers a pathway towards US Citizenship, but that is not to be over-shadowed by the main intention behind the program; the United State’s exploitation of cheap labor for a growing agricultural industry on stolen land. Immigrant workers are often grossly underpaid for their labor, it was such conditions that Dolores Huerta witnessed during her short time as an elementary school teacher. Huerta saw that her students, many of them children of farm workers, were living in poverty without enough food to eat of other basic necessities. Huerta went on to work with the Community Service Organization, the Agricultural Workers Association and then later, with the help of Cesar Chavez and Larry Itliong aka Seven Fingers, they established the United Farm Workers Union. Even today, 95% of California’s farm workers are of Mexican descent and 75% of them earn $10,000 or less annually.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA was introduced by President Barack Obama in June 2012, Unlike the DREAM act, DACA does not provide a pathway towards citizenship. Legislation like these are but symbolic band-aids that provide some relief but still do not address the underlying issues with America’s immigration policies.

What kind of future is left for a nation that puts it’s DREAMers in cages?
We DREAM of a day with no nations
We dream of a day with no borders.
We DREAM of a day where we are able to walk hand-in-hand with our neighbors across all lands.
Until then, every fence, every wall, every object of oppression used to divide us will crumble.

DISLAIMER: THESE SHIRTS ARE NOT PERFECT ( and that's just the way we like them! ) Due to the nature of our production, no two shirts are identical. Each shirt is printed by hand in a small garage by me! Each shirt is a labor of love and may have small ink spots from my grimy fucking fingers or uneven or slightly off-center prints.
